Brush Park primarily falls under the jurisdiction of the Detroit Police Department's 3rd Precinct, which handles most law enforcement needs, including both emergency and non-emergency incidents. Additionally, the Downtown Services Division plays a supporting role during arena events and other large gatherings, reflecting Brush Park's unique position near key venues.

For immediate assistance, always call 911. For non-emergency inquiries, you can contact the 3rd Precinct directly at (313) 596-5300.

Sergeant Barrick

📱 Text Only: (313) 908-0044

Sergeant Barrick is available for non-emergency communication via text message only. Whenever possible, include photos to help describe your concerns.

For any incidents—whether active or discovered later—the first step should always be calling 911. In some cases, non-active events (such as discovering stolen items or vandalism) may be redirected to the Telephone Crime Reporting Unit (TCRU). If you later obtain evidence, such as Ring camera footage, you can send it to Sergeant Barrick, who will ensure it reaches the appropriate investigative team.

The TCRU handles non-emergency police reports for incidents that have already occurred.

Contact them to:

  • File a police report for incidents like break-ins, auto theft, or illegal dumping.
  • Obtain information about someone in police custody.
  • Report an abandoned vehicle.
  • Make a noise complaint.
  • Report an open fire hydrant.
  • Report neighbor disputes.
  • Report cable or utility theft.

For vehicle owners seeking to file a stolen vehicle report that occurred within the city, this must be done in person at any Detroit Police Precinct.

Note: For crimes in progress or emergencies requiring immediate assistance, always call 911.
